Living in Medway

Situated on the north coast of Kent, Medway is surrounded by some of the most beautiful countryside and coastlines southeast England has to offer, yet it is less than an hour by train to London.

It is connected to an excellent road network enabling easy access across the southeast and further afield, including Europe, just 21 miles from the Kent coast.

Medway schools are of a high standard, with some of the best performing grammar schools in the region. When school is out, there are plenty of places to explore and activities to enjoy.

The River Medway has a fascinating and illustrious maritime heritage. During the summer months there’s no better way to view the area than from the river on one of the trips operated from Sun Pier in Chatham.

Food and drink lovers can find an excellent choice of restaurants, cafes and pubs throughout Medway, serving homemade dishes using local Kentish produce. Evening entertainment can be enjoyed at one of Medway’s theatres where a choice of shows, musicals and performances are regularly held.
