Our urogynaecology service offers clinical assessment and treatment of pelvic floor and lower urinary tract disorders, including vaginal prolapse and urinary incontinence. We also run a follow-up clinic for birth (obstetric) and anal sphincter injuries.
The team is made up of consultants, junior doctors, clinical nurse specialists and physiotherapists who work alongside doctors in other specialties such as urology and general surgery to ensure the best treatment plans for patients.
We perform urodynamic investigations at both Medway Maritime Hospital and Sheppey Community Hospital.
Surgical procedures are performed on the Sunderland Day Case Unit or in main theatres at Medway Maritime Hospital.
Referrals
Patients must be referred to the service by their GP and will be seen by a doctor or nurse specialist in clinic. Any necessary investigations can be organised, and some treatment can be started during your first visit.
