Physiotherapists help people of all ages affected by injury, illness or disability, to manage pain, long-term medical conditions, and prevent disease, illness and injury in the future, through movement and exercise, manual therapy, education and advice.
Our specialist physiotherapists provide support for inpatients receiving acute care in the following areas:
- Cancer services
- Cardiac medicine
- Children’s services
- Critical care
- Frailty
- Front door therapy (including Accident and Emergency – A&E)
- Maternity services
- Acute and specialist medicine
- Neurology
- Older persons
- Orthopaedics
- Respiratory medicine
- Surgical
- Women’s and pelvic health
Treatment starts with an assessment of each patient’s needs. A treatment plan is then agreed with patients based on their personal goals, and on ensuring safe discharge from hospital.
Where appropriate, we provide specialist outpatient rehabilitation care to support patients following discharge from hospital.
