We provide a range of specialist and surgical services for women who have either been referred by their GP or need further assessments following the results of a recent cervical screening test, more commonly known as a smear test. A smear clinic is also available for women who require treatment following a colposcopy and we offer a clinic for the administration of hormone treatment prior to surgery.
Services include:
- Gynaecology Assessment Unit (GAU) open Monday to Sunday
- Early pregnancy assessment clinic (EPAC)
- Manual vacuum aspiration (MVA) removal of retained products of conception
- Colposcopy (to investigate the cervix for abnormal cells)
- Hysteroscopy (camera into the womb via the vagina to investigate the cause of symptoms such as post-menopausal bleeding, painful periods and pelvic pain)
- Minor procedure clinics (for insertion of coil, hormonal implants. polyp removals etc.)
- Hycosy (ultrasound guided investigation into causes of infertility)
- Gonadotrophin-releasing hormone (GNRH) clinic to give medication to help with endometriosis pain and to reduce or stop the oestrogen production.

- Urodynamics (to investigate incontinence)
- Cystoscopy (to look inside the bladder)
- Nurse-led clinics diagnosing urinary conditions and offering treatment advice.
