Adult speech and language therapy

Speech and language therapists assess, treat and support adult inpatients who have communication disorders, including speech, language and voice, and/or swallowing disorders. If ongoing management is required after a patient is discharged from hospital, a referral will be sent to the community speech and language therapy team.

The speech and language therapy service also provides four outpatient clinics in the hospital:

Flexible Endoscopic Evaluation of the Swallow (FEES)
Located in the Ear, Nose and Throat (ENT) Department – Area 6, Green Zone, Level 2.

Endoscopic Evaluation of the Larynx (EEL)
Located in the Ear, Nose and Throat (ENT) Department – Area 6, Green Zone, Level 2.

Videofluoroscopy
Located in the Imaging Department, Red Zone, Level 2.

Surgical Voice Restoration (SVR) for patients with a laryngectomy
Located in the Ear, Nose and Throat (ENT) Department – Area 6, Green Zone, Level 2.
