X-ray department works at Medway Maritime Hospital

All patients and visitors should be aware of works starting in our Plain Film X-ray Department at Medway Maritime Hospital (Red Zone, Level 2) from mid-February 2025.

The work involves upgrading one of the machines in the department with newer and more reliable equipment and will last for approximately eight weeks (until mid-April 2025).

This may affect X-ray patients attending as GP referred walk-ins, and could lead to longer than usual waiting times.

To help mitigate this, the Department is extending opening hours for GP referred walk-ins to 8am to 8pm (from 8am to 5pm previously) throughout this period.

Additionally, patients can make use of X-ray services at Sittingbourne Memorial Hospital and Sheppey Community Hospital which both accept GP referred walk-ins. However, please note services at Sheppey Community Hospital are temporarily unavailable from Tuesday 4 March until Monday 17 March.
