Medway Maritime Hospital’s Summer Fun Day, which took place on Friday 2 August, was a big hit with patients, visitors and staff, raising much needed funds in the process.
As well as a variety of stalls, there was music from Hospital Radio Medway, entertainment from All Star Performers, face painting by Emily M Beauty, and fun activities by Gillingham Girlguiding and Busy Bodies with Jess.
Donna Law, Manager of The Medway Hospital Charity said: “A big thanks to everyone who came along to our Summer Fun Day earlier this month to support the work of The Medway Hospital Charity, The Medway League of Friends and the Oliver Fisher Special Care Baby Trust.
“It was lovely to see so many patients, visitors and staff, who had the opportunity to learn about the work our charities do to support the hospital.
“The £463.50 raised will be used to support patients, staff and volunteers.”
The event was also supported by the Kent Fire and Rescue Service, Kent Police Neighbourhood Task Force, The Friends of Harvey, Emerald and Milton Wards, and our Research and Innovation Team.
The continued support of the local community is very much appreciated. The charity recently funded some colourful murals in our children’s wards and areas. These were a result of feedback from our young patients’ families who asked for these areas to be brightened up to help improve their child’s experience while in hospital.
