Help The Medway Hospital Charity make a difference this Christmas

The Medway Hospital Charity is appealing to the public to help bring festive cheer to patients and visitors this Christmas.

From buying gifts for patients, to entering the Grand Christmas Raffle, or by supporting bi-weekly Christmas markets in the hospital’s main reception, there are plenty of ways to get involved.

Buy a Christmas gift for a patient

The charity’s Amazon wish lists makes it easy for people to buy a gift for a patient this Christmas.

The charity has two lists of carefully selected gifts that will help bring festive cheer to both young patients at Medway Maritime Hospital and children at Swale Special Needs Nursery.

• Medway Maritime Hospital wish list: From toys and games to blankets and learning resources, these gifts will help bring comfort and joy to patients at Medway Maritime Hospital this Christmas.
• Swale Special Needs Nursery wish list: Children at Swale Special Needs Nursery in Milton Regis will receive Christmas presents and educational resources thanks to public contributions.

Prices start at just £4 for a book for children at Swale Special Needs Nursery and the most expensive item is a mini projector for £275, which will be used to entertain young patients at Medway Maritime Hospital.

Donna Law, Charity and Fundraising Manager for The Medway Hospital Charity said: “We are extremely grateful for all gifts received. We know times are still tough for many people but if you can afford to buy an extra present this Christmas, our patients will be grateful to receive them.”

“These presents make a huge difference to patients in hospital this Christmas as it’s always nice to know someone is thinking of you.”

If people don’t have an Amazon account but would still like to buy a gift for a patient, the charity is asking for donations of new Christmas activity packs, puzzles, colouring pens and pencils, word searches, board games, toiletries and playing cards.

Gifts can be sent to the hospital at the address below or dropped off at the Charity and Volunteers’ Hub in the hospital’s main reception.

Visit a Christmas Market and enter the Grand Christmas Raffle

Don’t miss the charity’s Christmas markets and the chance to buy tickets for the Grand Christmas Raffle.

Raffle tickets will be available at the bi-weekly markets – which take place every Tuesday and Thursday until 17 December – and on weekdays at the hospital’s Charity and Volunteer’s Hub for just £2 each.

Prizes include:

• 1st Prize: Ninja Double Stack XL Air Fryer
• 2nd Prize: Luxury Food Hamper
• 3rd Prize: Echo Show

There are many more fantastic prizes, including gift hampers, gift vouchers, and two beautiful Christmas wreaths.

Every raffle ticket purchased helps to enhance care and services at the hospital.
