To mark Allied Health Professionals’ (AHPs) Day on Monday 14 October, we are celebrating some of our AHP colleagues who make up the third largest workforce in the NHS.
Here at Medway we employ Dietitians, Occupational Therapists, Physiotherapists, Dietetic Assistants, Therapy Assistants, Operating Department Practitioners (ODPs) and Radiographers, plus one Speech and Language Therapist in neonates.
Introducing Rose Ross, Lead Dietitian
“I qualified in 2016 and worked in another trust for a couple of years before moving to Medway in 2018.
“As the dietetics lead I am responsible for looking after our team of dietitians, dietetic apprentice and dietetic assistants. I am involved indirectly with patient care but still do enjoy being face-face with patients.
“My background is working as a Dietician in surgery and critical care.
“I have always been interested in food and learning about nutrition and have been able to apply this to helping improve patient’s health and help control their symptoms.
“I love being part of a wider multi-disciplinary team and having the opportunity to build rapport with colleagues and patients.
“Being able to be part of a patient’s journey as a dietitian and being able to translate scientific evidence into easy-to-understand language is so rewarding.”
