Robotic Surgical Systems and Procedures

I have attached an Excel spread sheet to assist.  Please feel free to fill in the spreadsheet or reply electronically with the data as outlined below.

• How many robotic surgical systems are currently utilised within the trust
  1. Names and number of each system 1x Da Vinci XI and 1x HUGO
  2. Year of implementation of the first robotic system  Da Vinci XI in 2017

If your trust has a robotic system I would be grateful for the following information.

• Number of procedures broken down by open, laparoscopic and robotic assisted surgery for the following specialities (if applicable) from the following individual years 2015, 2016, 2017, 2018, 2019, 2020, 2021, 2022, 2023, 2024.
  1. Breast Surgery
  2. Cardiothoracic Surgery
  3. Colorectal Surgery
  4. Gynaecology
  5. Head and neck Surgery
  6. Orthopaedic and Plastic Surgery
  7. Paediatric Surgery
  8. Transplant Surgery
  9. Upper GI, Bariatric, Hepato-pancreato-biliary and Oesophago-gastric Surgery
  10. Urology
  11. Vascular Surgery

The Trust considers where there are fewer than five the data is exempt as disclosure increases the risk of identification and self-identification. Under section 40(2) of the Freedom of Information Act 2000 disclosure of information should be withheld if it could lead to an individual being identified, which would be a breach of an individual’s rights under the Data Protection Act 2018.  However, we can confirm where there were fewer than five, this has been marked as <5 on the attached spreadsheet.
