1. I would like a breakdown of complaints relating to maternity care for the years 2019,2020,2021,2022,2023 and 2024 year to date. I would like to know the reason for the complaint and whether it was upheld.
2019
There were 23 complaints received – 7 upheld, 10 partially upheld and 7 not upheld.
Complaint reasons: appointment or cancellation not made; attitude of staff; caesarean related complications/problems; communication between staff; complications/problems during labour; complications/problems following labour; delays diagnosis, delays pain relief; failure to diagnose; lack of help with feeding & drinking, lack of medical care, attention, treatment, privacy; verbal communication to patient
2020
There were 29 complaints received – 7 upheld, 15 partially upheld and 7 not upheld.
Complaint reasons: attitude of staff, caesarean related complications/problems; complications/problems during labour; complications/problems following labour; consent to treatment; delays pain relief; failure to diagnose; information within the hospital; lack of medical care, attention, treatment; long wait for call to be answered; verbal communication to patient; unsatisfied with treatment given

3. For 2022, 2023 and 2024 year to date I would like to know the reason for the compensation pay out. N/A
